Bird lessons for humans: Simply adore

Updated: Jul 16

One night, young Baby Ting was perched across from me, looking fluffy and relaxed, just gazing at me for the longest time. It finally dawned on me: he's admiring me. This feeling filled my heart with love and a stronger determination to do everything I could for him and provide him with the best life possible. I was eager to research everything, from his diet to suitable play areas outside the cage, safe toys for inside the cage, and safety measures for having birds in the house.

It was clear to me that he adored me when he readily accepted my finger as a perch.

Observing him perched there, admiring me, prompted me to reflect on how God must feel when we dedicate time to sit and "gaze" at Him with adoration, simply finding joy in His presence. It doesn't necessitate words. He always longs to offer us His finest, yet I believe it fills His heart with love in those moments when we simply gaze at Him, meditating on His love — essentially, looking at Him intently is a form of loving Him.

He is delighted when we just look at Him with adoration... and I resolved in my heart to please Him in that way. Simply adore!
