The Heartbeat of Spiritually-Focused Art: Medium Matches Message

As an artist, I believe the medium of an artwork should echo its message. This principle lies at the core of all my spiritually-focused collections, from traditional paintings to innovative lenticular pieces like Lion-Lamb. Every choice—from the tools and techniques to the final presentation—is intentional, designed to enhance the viewer’s connection to the work’s message, serving as a bridge to deeper spiritual understanding.

The Lion-Lamb Lenticular Diptych: A Testament of Duality

The Lion-Lamb lenticular diptych is a perfect example of this philosophy in action. Inspired by one of the most profound scenes in the Book of Revelation, it draws on John’s vision where he is directed toward the victorious Lion of Judah but instead sees a Lamb that was slain. This Lamb—Jeshua (Jesus)—is no ordinary lamb. He embodies both divine justice and mercy, perfectly united in a single being:

“Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.”

And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain…”

~ Revelation 5:5–6

The Medium of Lenticular Art

Lenticular art transforms this profound spiritual truth into a dynamic visual experience. By flipping between two images as the viewer shifts their perspective, the Lion-Lamb diptych mirrors the mystery of Christ’s dual nature:

• The Lion represents divine justice and sovereign power.

• The Lamb represents divine mercy and sacrificial love.

This dynamic medium enhances the spiritual narrative, becoming an essential part of the message, inviting viewers to engage physically and spiritually with the profound mystery that the Lion and the Lamb are one and the same.

Medium Matches Message Across All Collections

While lenticular art is a striking example, this principle medium matches message in art resonates throughout all my collections:

Hope Fulfilled: Bold, vivid oils reflect the solidity and majesty of promises realized

both now and in eternity.

Heaven’ian: Gentle pastels evoke the mysterious light and ethereal beauty of the

eternal world that awaits.

Book of Revelation: Lenticular pieces emphasize the vastness and wonder of the

dynamic, multidimensional realities described in Scripture.

Infinite Facets: Pastel textures and layered strokes explore facial features,

capturing the essence and soul of each personality.

Architectonic Imagination: Precise graphite and colored pencil compositions

celebrate divine order and purpose through architectural forms.

Each medium is carefully chosen to align with its message, creating a richer, immersive experience that speaks to the viewer’s heart and mind.

Exploring the Depths of Revelation

Lion-Lamb delves into John’s extraordinary vision of Heaven. The Lamb is depicted as slain yet standing, with seven horns symbolizing perfect power and seven eyes representing perfect wisdom. This imagery, full of symbolic weight, takes on even greater significance when rendered in a medium that changes with the viewer’s position. The act of shifting perspective reflects the spiritual reality of Christ’s unchanging yet multifaceted nature.

The revelation is clear: the Lion of Judah is the Lamb who was slain before the foundation of the world. The Redeemer is both fierce and meek, a just warrior and a merciful Savior. Through the lenticular diptych, these two facets of Jeshua’s identity occupy the same space, visually and theologically unified.

Eternity in Your Heart

The message of Lion-Lamb extends beyond the artwork itself. It’s an invitation to reflect on Jeshua, who is both our fierce Defender and sacrificial Savior. He offers not just a future promise of Heaven but the gift of His presence and transformative power today:

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” ~ Hebrews 13:8

As Ecclesiastes reminds us:

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.”

~ Ecclesiastes 3:11

This eternal longing, placed in every human heart, points to the ultimate purpose of life: to know Jeshua. Through knowing Him, we glimpse eternity now, finding purpose, peace, freedom in our minds, and day-to-day renewal.
