There's hope for the future!

Amid the hustle and bustle of life, it is crucial to have a constant reminder of the bright future and unwavering hope that we hold. This is not mere wishful thinking, but a hopeful anticipation of the promised triumphant conclusion for those who follow Jesus. Keeping in mind our guaranteed victory helps us realign our focus and adopt an eternal perspective in our earthly existence.

Completed on January 17, 2021, this watercolor painting entitled It is Finished. | נשלם was inspired by a profound personal loss and the prevailing political and emotional unrest of that period. The idea stemmed from a dream recounted by a prayer intercessor, who had envisioned a majestic Lion triumphing over a dragon, symbolized by the dragon's defeated head and neck in the Lion's grasp. Hearing about that vision sparked me to create the painting, which I felt compelled to finish swiftly. While working on it, I felt a sense of courage welling up within me, reassured by the belief in the ultimate triumph over darkness and mortality.

Curious about the connection between this painting and triumph over evil and death? Let me explain! The Lion depicted in the artwork represents the Great Lion of the tribe of Judah, also known as Jesus Christ. He bore the full weight of evil and death, ultimately conquering them on our behalf. Through His sacrificial death on a Roman cross, He endured the punishment for our sins. Jesus knew He had completed His part in God's plan to conquer evil and death when He said, "It is finished!" (נשלם in Hebrew) Despite death's apparent and short-lived victory, God's plan prevailed as Jesus was resurrected by the Spirit of God just three days after His death, ensuring eternal life for those who believe in Jesus. This victory guarantees a future free from evil, where goodness prevails. While challenges persist in this flawed world, the promise of everlasting life makes it a journey worth embracing and worth our every appeal to Heaven along the way!

Understanding the truth about this triumph impacts how we approach every mental battle each day - we engage from a standpoint of victory and protection of what has already been secured for us, rather than striving to regain what is rightfully ours. The triumph over darkness and mortality belongs to us, so we confront challenges with that assurance, distinguishing ourselves as victors beyond measure ... more than conquerors, in fact! This artwork aims to uplift and prompt you to acknowledge that, with the war already won, we assert OUR triumph in all the struggles within our minds and in the lives of our loved ones! Be encouraged that we do indeed have hope for the future, in this world and in the world to come!
